Axia vs Bezza vs Saga Depreciation: What Our 2026 Records Show
Published / last reviewed: 18 July 2026
Prepared by the Intercontinental Motors Market Insights Team. Vehicle-specific figures should be reviewed by the Intercontinental Motors valuation team before publication.
Quick answer
In this selected sample from Intercontinental Motors' in-house records, the 2024 Perodua Bezza 1.3 X recorded the lowest observed raw depreciation at 22.5%, retaining 77.5% of its reference Malaysian new-car price. Its observed in-house wholesale price was RM34,100 against a reference new price of RM43,980.
It was not the lowest-mileage vehicle in the comparison; that was the 2023 Proton Saga Premium. Condition and history were not available, so the result remains descriptive rather than conclusive.
Why this comparison matters
Malaysia's entry-car market is highly price-sensitive, but purchase price alone does not show the full cost of ownership. Resale demand, mileage, condition and the gap between an observed wholesale value and a retail selling price all affect what an owner may receive.
The figures below use observed in-house wholesale prices rather than retail asking prices. Wholesale values usually allow for inspection uncertainty, preparation cost, warranty exposure, financing support, stock-holding time and dealer margin. They should not be presented as guaranteed retail market values.

What the sample shows
From lowest to highest raw depreciation, the selected observations rank as: Perodua Bezza 1.3 X (22.5% loss), Perodua Axia SE (34.1% loss), Proton Saga Premium (41.4% loss).
The gap between the lowest and highest raw depreciation was 18.9 percentage points. The lowest simple annual ringgit loss was Perodua Bezza 1.3 X at RM4,940 per model year. Percentage loss, actual ringgit loss and annualised loss measure different things, so they should be read together.
